Symptoms
Discharge of pus from the ear with pain is known as Kara-Srava.
Treatment
Drops for the Ear
1. Gomutra (cows urine) 2 to 4 drops to be instilled twice a day.
2. Purified (Suddha) powder of Samudraphena (os sepia) 120 to 250 mg. to be used locally twice a day.
3. Purified (Suddha) ankaa (borax) 120 to 250 mg. to be used locally twice a day.
4. Powder of Suddha Sphaika (purified alum) 120 mg. dissolved in womens milk to be instilled in the ear twice a day.
5. Fine powder of Rasajana-250 to 500 mg. to be used locally twice a day.
6. Powder of equal part of Suddha Laksa (purified lac) and Rala (oleo-resin of Sala) 60 to 120 mg. to be used locally twice a day.
7. Take fresh juice of leaf of Jatipatra (Spanish jasmine) 4 parts and honey 1 part. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled in the ear twice a day.
8. Take Rasajana 1 part, Naridugdha (human milk) 4 parts and honey 1 part and instill its 2 to 4 drops in the ear twice a day.
9. Take purified Samudraphena (os sepia) 1 part and Narikela Taila (coconut oil) 3 parts. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled twice a day.
10. Fresh Juice obtained from the fruit of Vanakarpasa (wild cotton) 2 parts to be mixed with powdered bark of Sala 1 part and honey 1 part. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled twice a day.
11. Mix powder of equal part of barks of Tinduka and Lodhra, fruit rinds of Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan) andAmalaki (embelic myrobalan) and root of Majisha (madder) 250 mg. in the fresh juice of Kapittha (wood apple) and honey. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled in the ear twice a day.
12. Take fresh juices from the leaves of Jambu (jamun) andAmra (mango) and fruits of Kapittha (wood apple) and Vanakarpasa (wild cotton)- 3 parts, and honey- 1 part. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled in the ear twice a day. 13. Prepare Taila from the rhizome of Haridra (turmeric) 24 g., Suddha Gandhaka (purified sulphur) -24 g., fresh juice of leaf of Dhattura (datura) 448 ml. and Sarsapa Taila (mustard oil) 448 ml. its 2 to 4 drops to be instilled in the ear twice a day.
