Cough - Khasi

Symptoms
Kasa: irritation in the chest and throat, cough with viscid expectoration, fever, dryness in the mouth, thirst, bitter vomit of yellow colour with bile, burning sensation in the whole body, coating of the throat with phlegm, lethargy, headache, aversion to food are the general signs and symptoms of Kasa of children.

Svasa: in Svasa the child has symptoms of cough, dyspenea, dryness in the mouth, sweating in the forehead and tension in the eyes.


Treatment
Single Drugs

1. Powdered root of Ativisa, to be taken with honey to make a paste thrice a day.

2. Kaakari Puspa KeSara mixed with honey to make a paste to be taken thrice a day.

Simple Preparations

1. Fry rhizome of Haridra (turmeric) in saucepan to near burning, then powder and given with honey thrice a day.

2. Suddha ankaa (purified borax), to be taken with honey 2 to 3 times a day.

3. A segment of bulb of Rasona (garlic) boiled in water to be taken with 5 to 10 g. Sarkara (raw sugar) twice a day.

4. Fine powder of equal part of root of Ativisa (indian atees), fruit of KarkaaSrngi (crabs claw), and roots of Pippali (long pepper) and Kusha (koot), to be taken with honey to make a paste thrice a day.

5. Fine powder of equal part of Draksa (raisin), leaf of Vasa (vasaka) and fruit rind of Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan), to be taken with honey to make a paste thrice a day.

6. Fine powder of equal part of Draksa (raisin), whole plant of Duralabha (camels thorn), fruit rind of Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan) and fruit of Pippali (long pepper), to be taken with honey and Ghrta (ghee) to make a paste thrice a day.

Compound Preparations

1. Balacaturbhadra Cura: it is to be given twice a day.

External Applications
