Fly bite - Makhi Kaana

Symptoms
if a person suffers from chronic food poisoning, his body becomes pale, thin, and he has drowsiness, swelling in the limbs, pain in the Marmas like heart and head, fever, diarrhoea, distension of abdomen. in case of the acute poisoning vomiting or diarrhoea and collapse may also occur.


Treatment
1. Eraa Taila (castor oil)-14 to 28 ml. to be taken with 100 ml. warm water for purgation.

2. Decoction of seed of Madanaphala (emetic nut) 1 litre to be used for emesis.

3. Saindhava Lavaa (rook salt)-50 g. in warm water 1 litre, to be used for emesis.

4. increase use of ghee in food.

5. Massage with Ghrta Siddha with the decoction of root of Ankoha.

Compound Preparations

1. Nagadanti Ghrta: 14 to 28 g, to be taken with 100 ml. warm water.

General Treatment for All Types of Visa

1. After emesis (Vamana) give medicines to strengthen the heart.

2. Powdered fruit pulp of Kapittha (wood apple) 3 to 6 g. to be taken with 4 to 6 g. honey twice a day.

3. Powdered rhizome of Tagara (valerian) 3 to 6 g. to be taken with honey and Sarkara (raw sugar) twice a day.

4. Nasya of powder of root of Brhati (yellow berried night shade) or root of Kaakari (yellow berried night shade) or root of Bijapura (lemon) or seed of Jyotismati (staff tree).

5. Powder of equal part of flower, root, bark and leaf of Sirisa-3 to 6 g. to be taken with 5 to 10 g. ghee.

6. Suddha Bhallataka (marking nut)- 30 to 60 mg. and fruit of Narikela (coconut)- 5 to 10 g. to be taken with 5 to 10 g. Tila (sesame seed) twice a day (with caution).

7. if there is diminished vision Ajana prepared of equal part of wood of Devadaru (deodar), Suhi (dried ginger), fruit of Pippali (long pepper), rhizome of Haridra (turmeric), leaf of Karvira (oleander), Suddha Sauvirajana (antimony sulphide), decorticated fruit of Karaja (indian beech), seed of Nimba (neem) and flower of Tulasi (sacred basil) in Aja Mutra (goat's urine) to be applied in the eyes.

Compound Preparations

1. Ajita Agada: l2 to 24 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

2. DaSanga Agada: 12 to 24 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day. it is specially useful in poisonous symptoms resulting from helminths.

3. Gandhahasti Agada: 6 to 12 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

4. Maha Gandhahasti Agada: 6 to 12 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

5. Maha Sugandhi Agada: Lepa (plaster) for external use in Sarpa DaSa (snake bite).

6. Amrta Ghrta: 12 to 24 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

7. Tauliyaka Ghrta: 12 to 24 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

8. Mrtasajivani Agada: Lepa (plaster) for external application.

9. Sirisarisa: 14 to 28 ml. to be taken with equal quantity of water after meal twice a day.

Pathya

Taula (rice) particularly of Sali and sasi varieties, Seed ofAhaki (Pigeon pea and Satina (pea); leaves of Tauliyaka (a variety of amaranth), Maukapari (pennywort) and Cangeri (wood sorrel); leaf and fruit of Paola (a variety of small cucumber-snake gourd), Nai Saka, Candana (sandalwood), leaf of Sigru (horse radish), fruit ofAmalaki (embelic myrobalan), rhizome of Haridra (turmeric), KeSara (saffron); Takra (butter milk), ghee, honey, Mrgamada (musk); meat of peacock, partridge, falcon, deer, lizard; urine of cow and goat, and Saindhava (rock salt) are the useful articles of diet for the patients suffering from poisoning.

Apathya

Amla, Lavaa Dravya; incompatible items of food very frequent meals are harmful. Avoid anger, exercise, fasting, smoking, day sleep, sweating and sexual intercourse and intake of betel and strong winds.
