Furunculosis - Phunsi

Symptoms
Acute vomiting and diarrhoea, thirst, Burning sensation, colicy pain in the abdomen, yawning, giddiness, spasm in the body, discolouracion of the skin, tremor, pain in the region of heart and hammering headache are the main signs and symptoms of Visucika.


Treatment
Single Drugs

1. Jala Siddha with Lavanga (clove) or Jatiphala (nutmeg) or fluid of freshly broken Narikela (coconut) or juice of Nimbu (lemon) in water to be taken in small quantity for thirst.

Simple Preparations

1. Kalka of root of Aparmarga (prickly chaff) -3 to 6 g. in sufficient water to be taken thrice a day.

2. Siddha jala with equal part of Lavanga (clove), root of Mustaka (motha), Jatiphala (nutmeg fruit) to be taken in 25 ml. dose or as required.

3. Juice of Palau (onion)-7 to 14 ml. to be taken with powder of Marica (black pepper)-1 g. and Saindhava (rock-salt)-l g., thrice a day.

4. Decocrion of equal part of fruit pulp of Bilva (bad), Suhi (dried ginger) and bark of Kaphala (box myrtle)-14 to 28 ml. to be taken thrice a day.

5. Panaka of equal part of fruit pulp of Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan), fruit of Yavani (ptychotis) and Trikau to be taken frequently.

6. A Vai made from equal part of Karpura (camphor), Hingu (asafoetida) fried in ghee, Marica (black pepper), bulb of Rasona (garlic), Puraa Gua (old jaggery) Weighing 250 mg. to be taken with warm water twice a day

Compound Preparations

1. Citrakadi Vai: 2 to 4 pills to be taken with warm water twice a day.

2. Sankha Vai: 2 to 4 Vai to be taken with warm water twice a day.

3. Agnikumara Rasa: 2 to 4 Vai to be taken with warm water twice a day.

4. Rama-Baa Rasa: 60 to 120 mg. to be taken with 7 to 14 ml. leaf juice of Bilva (bael) twice a day.

External Applications

1. Lepa (plaster) of equal part of Tvak-Dalacini (cinnamon bark), Tejapatra (tamala leaf), root of Rasna (indian groundsel), bark of Sigru (horse radish), root of Kusha (koot), rhizome of Vaca (sweet flag), fruit of MiSreya (fennel) in Kaji to be applied on the abdomen.

2. Equal part of fine powder of Trikau, rhizome of Haridra (turmeric), seed of Karaja, root of Bijapura (lemon) ground in water to make into a Varti and applied in the eyes as Ajana.
