Symptoms
lightheadedness.
vertigo (spinning motion)
unsteadiness.
loss of balance.
sensation of floating or swimming.
heavy-headedness.
spaciness.


Treatment
During the attack wash the face and head of the patient with cold water. in case of frequent attacks of prolonged duration, a specialist may be consulted and blood pressure may also be get checked.

Single Drugs

1. Powdered root of Vaca (sweet-flag) 1 g. or root of ASvagandha 1 g. to be taken with 250 ml. milk thrice a day.

2. Powdered whole plant of Sankhapuspi 1 to 2 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk thrice a day.

3. if attack is preceded with headache take powder of Sarpagandha in 1 to 2 g. dose two times a day with 3 g. powder of Triphala.

4. if attack sets in after feeling of vacantness in the head, weakness and depression then Kalka of bulb of Rasona,Ardraka in the dose of 5 to 10 g. or Duralabha (camels thorn) in the dose of 3 to 6 may be taken three times a day.

Simple Preparations

1. Decoction prepared from Brhat Paca Mula to be taken in 14 to 28 ml. dose with 5 to 10 g. honey thrice a day.

2. Decoction prepared from DaSamula to be taken in 14 to 28 ml. dose with 5 to 10 g. honey thrice a day.

3. Decoction prepared from the whole plant of Duralabha (camels thorn) to be taken in 14 to 28 ml. dose with milk and 5 to 10 g. Sarkara (raw sugar) at night.

4. in case of Udarastha Vayu, take 1 g. each of bulb of Rasona (garlic),Ardraka (ginger) and powdered root of Pippali with honey twice a day or Trikau 3 g. with honey twice a day.

Compound Preparations

1. Rasa Sindura: 120 to 250 mg. to be taken with honey to make a paste twice a day.

2. Jahara-Mohara Pisi: 120 to 250 mg. to be taken with honey to make a paste thrice a day.

3. HaritaSma Pisi: 120 to 250 mg. to be taken with honey to make a paste thrice a day.

4. Satavaryadi Ghrta: 12 to 24 g. to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk thrice a day.

5. Sarasvatarisa: 14 to 28 ml. to be taken with equal part of water thrice a day after meal.

6. Balarisa: 14 to 28 ml. to be taken with equal part of water after meal thrice a day.

7. in case attack sets in after feeling of vacantness in the head, weakness and depression or Udarastha Vayu then 2 pills of Agnitui Vai to be taken with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

8. in Udarastha Vayu, Makaramusi Yoga may be taken in 120 to 250 mg. dose with 100 to 250 ml. milk twice a day.

Local Applications

1. HimanSu Taila or Himasagara Taila for massage on the head.
